The Museum Canvas

A Handcrafted Masterpiece

Abigail Chopel Photography | Raleigh, North Carolina

We inherited photography from portrait painters who used canvas to create their masterpieces.

Often described as “furniture for the wall,” each museum quality piece is completely unique and handmade. Our canvases are intricately crafted; designed to compliment and to complete the space in which they hang. The creation process is key to their quality, and quite fascinating to learn about! Keep reading to see a behind-the-scenes look at how our Museum Canvases are made.

Durable

Each piece is built by hand by master craftsmen. The canvas receives about 15 coats of acrylic lacquer which transforms your portrait into an original work of art. This clear coating both adds dimension to the artwork and provides protection against UV rays, fingerprints and everyday life. If your canvas gets dirty, simply wipe it with Windex or a damp cloth; this will not harm your artwork!
